Honda have released the first teaser for the Alpha electric SUV and confirmed its global premiere for December 2, 2026. The Alpha is the production version of the 0 Alpha prototype showcased at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Expected to go on sale in India in early 2027, it will be Honda’s first electric car for the Indian market.

The teaser shows the upcoming Alpha under a cover. Its silhouette suggests a relatively flat roof, an upright rear end and squared-off SUV proportions. The body panels and lighting details remain largely hidden.

Honda have retained the Alpha name from the prototype while dropping the ‘0’ prefix. The production SUV will also become the first Honda model in India to wear the company’s new H logo, which appears at the end of the teaser video.

Earlier spy shots offered a glimpse of the Alpha’s cabin. The test car featured a large freestanding touchscreen, a separate digital instrument cluster, a 3-spoke steering wheel and physical buttons for the AC.

The final feature list remains unconfirmed. Honda are also yet to announce the Alpha’s battery capacity, motor specifications, claimed range and charging speeds.
Honda will manufacture the Alpha in India, with the country serving as its global production base. The electric SUV is expected to go on sale here in early 2027, following its December 2 unveiling.

The Alpha will compete with electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Mahindra BE 6.
