2022 Force Gurkha 5-door Spied - Launch Soon | V3Cars

New images of the Force Gurkha 5-door have surfaced online, revealing some key details about the upcoming SUV. The Gurkha 5-door will be longer than the Gurkha 3-door and could also offer better comfort features for passengers.

It is no secret that Force Motors are developing the Gurkha 5-door. It is likely to go on sale soon as it has been spied without any camouflage. On the design front, the Gurkha 5-door could get a redesigned grille and rectangular headlights. Surprisingly, the test car didn’t have fender-mounted turn indicators, which is a signature of the Gurkha.

The 5-door Gurkha will boast a longer wheelbase than the 3-door model. The test car is likely to get fatter tyres as seen in the spy images. Unlike the Mahindra Bolero, the Gurkha will feature a regular inside-hinged doors. At the rear, the Gurkha 5-door could get vertical tail lights and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

We are yet to get a proper look inside the 2022 Gurkha 5-door. The 3-door model gets a basic interior. However, we expect the Gurkha 5-door to offer better features than 3-door Gurkha. The 3-door model comes with captain chairs for rear passengers whereas the 5-door will get bench seating. 

The Force Gurkha 5-door is likely to come with the same 2.6L diesel engine as the Gurkha 3-door. This motor is derived from the Mercedes-Benz OM616 diesel engine. It produces 91PS of power at 3200rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1400rpm to 2400rpm. As of now, the Gurkha comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. However, Force Motors are said to be working on an automatic transmission. Force Motors could offer the Gurkha 5-door with both 4WD and 2WD options.

The Force Gurkha 5-door will be the answer to the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door. The latter two will expectedly offer a lot more on the technology front. Force Motors could bring the Gurkha 5-door to the market this year whereas there is no word on the launch timeline of the Thar 5-door and Jimny 5-door.
