We all know that Hyundai is working on the launch of the 2018 Santro or the codenamed AH2 hatchback in the country. According to the reports, the South Korean automaker will launch the hatchback on 23rd October 2018. However, Hyundai is yet to make the official announcement regarding the launch. Recently, Hyundai had launched the 'Hyundai naamkaran' contest to invite suggestion for the market name of its entry-level car. The winning entry was supposed to be used as a suffix to the 'Santro' brand and the media and customers opine that the name should be brought back with the AH2.
Hyundai had dropped a teaser sketch showing the design of the car. According to the sketch, the upcoming Santro despite of its modern designing will continue to bear its signature tall-boy lines. The new-gen hatchback will be positioned between the Eon and Grand i10 in Hyundai’s product line-up and will carry a similar design language with strong lines, LED DRLs and the full-face grille seen on the facelifted Grand i10. The new Santro also features large tail lights like the Eon and like the updated Grand i10, the new Santro will be offered with black inserts in the bumpers.
