Hyundai Venue becomes the first car in India to get an ACT (auto-clutch transmission) that Hyundai likes to call iMT. It’s a clutchless manual transmission, so there’s no clutch pedal, but the driver has to shift gears manually, like in a conventional manual transmission. Apart from getting an iMT with the turbo-petrol engine, the Venue now also gets a Sport trim with SX and SX(O) variants and a new S+ variant with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. Hyundai has also discontinued orange monotone, dual-tone and blue-white dual-tone exterior colours. Here are more details about the new additions.
Venue S Plus: Features & Value
Compared to the Venue 1.2 S variant, the S Plus is almost Rs. 92,000 more expensive. If you wanted to buy the Venue 1.2, but felt that it lacks some of the modern-day features, then the S+ variant is Hyundai’s answer to that.

In addition to the features on the S variant, the S+ gets some features like:
Halogen projector headlamps
Halogen projector fog lamps
LED tail lamps
8-inch touchscreen infotainment
Android Auto and Apple Carplay
Rear parking camera
Height-adjustable Driver Seat
For all the additional features that the S+ variant gets over S, the asking price is justified. So you won’t be going wrong value-wise if you plan to upgrade from S to S+ variant.
Hyundai Venue Sport Trim: What’s Extra
The Venue Sport is available in SX, SX Plus and SX (O) variants with petrol and diesel engines. Here are the additional features of the Venue Sport:
Red brake callipers
Glossy black front grille with red insert
Dark grey front bumper accents
Dark grey roof rails with red accents
Red accents in the wheel arch and body cladding
4-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel from the Creta
Metal finish on pedals
Red accents on knobs
Dark grey upholstery
Red accents on upholstery, steering, gear knob and door pads
The Sport variant gets only cosmetic updates, which may not appeal to the head but could pull the heartstrings.

Don’t buy if difference in on-road price exceeds Rs 65,000

Is 2020 Hyundai Venue Sport Petrol SX, SX+, SX (O) Worth Buying?
Venue’s Sport trim is worth buying in the SX+ and SX(O) variants. In the SX variant, however, since the price of the Sport trim goes above the Rs 10 lakh mark, the on-road price difference between the SX Sport ACT and SX MT might swell to over Rs 65,000 in some states. If it goes beyond the Rs 65,000 mark, then upgrading to Sport trim for the cosmetic add-ons will compromise on value-for-money.
Here are the prices of the 2020 Hyundai Vene Sport diesel MT:
HYUNDAI VENUE SPORT DIESEL MT
Don’t buy if difference in on-road price exceeds Rs 45,000
Definitely worth buying
Is 2020 Hyundai Venue Sport Diesel SX, SX (O) Worth Buying
With the Sport upgrade, the Venue diesel costs about Rs. 31,000 more for the SX variant and Rs. 13,000 for the SX (O). With the higher, SX (O) variant, it’s an easy recommendation and definitely worth buying. In case of the SX variant, it’s not worth considering because the price of the SX Sport diesel variant is higher than Rs. 10 lakh. So, in some states the on-road price will be much higher than the non-sport SX MT diesel. If the differential cost goes over Rs 45,000, we won’t recommend this upgrade.
