Jeep India has commenced registering bookings for the new top of the range variant of its Compass SUV – the Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The India-spec Compass Trailhawk got recently spied in India sans any veils, which indicates that its launch in the Indian market is imminent. The fresh set of spy images also offers an idea about the color options that Jeep will offer on the Compass Trailhawk variant in India. The off-road centric, Trail Rated top of the range model trim of the Jeep Compass will be offered for sale in the Indian market in both petrol and diesel versions.
The Jeep Compass TrailHawk, being the rugged and fully off-road ready version, gets endowed with a host of additional off-road equipments as well as added sporty external features in order to mark it apart from the regular variants of the Compass. There are some mechanical changes as well to make the variant offer optimal off-road performance, to please the really hardcore off-road fanatics.
In terms of the exterior design changes, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be getting revised front and rear bumper design. The fashionable chrome accents are replaced with the sportier satin metallic black finish both at the front façade as well as on the side profile. The front bumper sports dual tow hook setup in visible red colour, while the rear bumper comes with one two hook setup. The Compass badge has also been replaced with a black Jeep logo instead with red accents, which offers a more rugged and sporty appeal to the vehicle. The special variant’s class is also announced by the massive 'Trailhawk' logo on the boot lid, while the 'Trail Rated' badge gets flaunted on the side fenders. The top-end Compass TrailHawk also boasts of larger set of alloy wheels, which are 17 inch units that come in exclusive two tone shade.
On the inside, the Jeep Compass TrailHawk also gets the sporty color combination of red and black for the interior theme. The cabin gets premium all-black leather upholstery that is highlighted with sporty red accents. The seats also highlight the TrailHawk variant with embroidered seat upholstery. The variant also comes with touchscreen infotainment system which comes with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Under the hood, the Jeep Compass TrailHawk top-end variant will get packed with the 1.4 litre petrol engine that gets paired with a 6 speed torque converter unit. On the other hand, the diesel version gets powered by a 2.0 litre MultiJet diesel motor that is expected to come paired to a 9 speed automatic transmission. The TrailHawk also comes with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain Traction Management System and boasts of the new 'Rock Mode' option.
The new India-spec Compass TrailHawk is expected to be around Rs. 1 lakh dearer as compared against the current top of the range Compass variant. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to be priced at around Rs. 23 lakhs. Post launch, the Compass Trailhawk will fight with the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
