Hatchbacks Segment January 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- In terms of sales, the B-segment hatchback is the best-selling segment in the Indian market.
- Ignis was the best performing hatchback in January 2023 YoY comparison, with a 193% rise in dispatches as compared to January 2022.
- The Glanza can be put on the second spot for top performing cars in the category, with around 147% YoY gains in January 2023.
- Renault Kwid was the biggest loser, with a 97% decline in sales. The Maruti Celerio was the second biggest loser with a 59% decline in dispatches in YoY comparison for January, followed by the Maruti S-Presso with a 36% decline.
- Swift also reported a YoY decline of 14% in January.
- Honda Jazz reported no dispatches in the month of January, hinting at a possible discontinuation in the coming days.

Hatchback Segment January 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Baleno claimed the top spot with nearly 17,000 dispatches in the month of December, but was taken over by the Alto pair, WagonR and Swift in January with over 21,000, 20,000 and 16,000 dispatches, respectively
- S-Presso was the top MoM gainer in January with 261% growth in dispatch figures
- Celerio was the second best top gainer in MoM comparison, with a 213% growth
- Among the notable MoM losers were the Kwid, Glanza and Baleno, with their dispatches declining by 97% for Kwid, around 25% for Glanza and 3.4% for the Baleno
