Iconic American SUV brand Jeep has launched Black Pack edition of its highly popular Compass compact SUV in the car market of India at Rs. 20.59 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Jeep Compass Black Pack edition has been tagged at only Rs. 15,000 more than the standard Compass Limited (O) variant. The new Compass Black Pack edition model gets a number of cosmetic updates in a sporty black theme as its name suggests.
When the visual updates are concerned, the new Jeep Compass Black Pack Edition comes with a black coloured roof, black wing mirror caps, and alloy wheels finished in black. The special edition model of the Jeep Compass compact SUV has been offered for sale in India in 3 exterior color options, namely - Minimal Grey, Magnesio Grey and Vocal White. On the inside, the black theme continues. The Compass Black Pack Edition gets all black interiors along with black upholstery for the seats.
Being a special edition model, the new Compass Black Pack edition model does not get any mechanical changes or updates and gets powered by the same engines as the standard Compass SUV. The Compass Black Pack edition variant is being offered for sale in the petrol automatic and diesel manual variant choices. The petrol model gets powered by a 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine which is capable of churning out a max power output of 160 bhp along with a top torque of 250 Nm. The petrol mill comes paired with a 7 speed automatic transmission gearbox. On the other hand, the 2 liter turbocharged diesel motor that is good to deliver a max power output of 170 bhp along with 350 Nm of peak torque and is coupled with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox.
The Fiat Chrysler Auto (FCA) owned SUV brand is planning to launch more new variants of the Jeep Compass, as it has been the most successful product till date from the house of FCA India.
Jeep India is planning to introduce a new Limited Plus top of the range model trim of the Compass very soon. The Compass Limited Plus trim will be more loaded and offer an enhanced premium look and feel to attract the potential Compass compact SUV buyers in India. This new upcoming Compass variant is likely to get more added premium features like automatic rain sensing wipers, electronically height adjustable seats, a panoramic sunroof and much more. The Compass Limited Plus trim is expected to launch just prior or during the Indian festive season this year to keep the customer interest fresh in the popular SUV model and to further boost its sales.
Apart from this, it is already known that the Jeep Compass compact SUV will be also receiving the rugged and fully off-road capable Trailhawk variant, which will come with a host of exterior, interior, mechanical and equipment updates. The Compass Tralhawk will ultimately become the top of the range model in India and is expected to launch here by end of this year or early next year.
