JSW Motors are preparing to enter the Indian 4-wheeler market as an independent carmaker, and ahead of their planned debut, the company has filed trademarks for 7 new names. The names include JSW Combat, JSW Adventura, JSW Cadet, JSW Urbanique, JSW Dominor, JSW Sereno and JSW Eleve.

While the trademark filings give us an idea of the naming strategy JSW Motors could adopt, the company has not confirmed which names will be assigned to which vehicles. The trademarks could also be used for variants or vehicle-related services.
The 7 names filed by JSW Motors are:
The names appear to cover a range of characters, from rugged and adventure-oriented to urban and premium. However, it is important to note that a trademark filing does not guarantee that the name will eventually be used on a production vehicle.

Combat and Adventura have strong rugged and adventure-oriented connotations, making them potential candidates for a lifestyle SUV. JSW Motors are expected to introduce a model based on the Jetour T2 as part of their partnership with Chery, and the boxy SUV’s off-road-inspired design would suit either name.
The Jetour T2-based SUV is expected to be among JSW Motors’ first products for India and could use a plug-in hybrid powertrain. However, there is currently no official confirmation linking either trademark to this particular model.

The Urbanique name suggests a city-focused product. It could be used for one of JSW Motors’ upcoming compact SUVs, including models based on Chery products.
JSW Motors were spotted testing vehicles such as the Chery iCar V23 and Jaecoo J5 in India. Both could eventually form part of the brand’s electric vehicle portfolio, although the company has not confirmed their Indian names.
The remaining names offer less obvious clues about their intended applications. Eleve has a more premium-sounding character and could potentially be used for an upmarket electric vehicle or variant, while Sereno suggests a more comfort- and refinement-focused product.
Dominor, meanwhile, has a stronger performance-oriented character. Cadet could potentially suit a smaller or more accessible model. These are only possible interpretations of the names, however, and there is no confirmation from JSW Motors about their intended use.
JSW Motors are preparing to enter the Indian 4-wheeler market as an independent carmaker, separate from the JSW MG Motor India joint venture. The company is expected to launch their first vehicle before Diwali 2026 and is likely to focus initially on new-energy vehicles, including electric, plug-in hybrid and range-extender models.
The company’s partnership with Chery will give them access to existing vehicle platforms and technologies, which can then be adapted for the Indian market. Initial products could arrive through CBU or CKD routes, with localisation expected to increase progressively.
JSW Motors are also working on a separate sales and service network for their passenger vehicle operations. More details about their product lineup and naming strategy are expected to emerge closer to the brand’s India debut.
