In this June 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.

Hatchbacks Segment June 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Maruti Suzuki may not have a strong grip in the SUV and sedan segment, but they have the hatchbacks under their command
This is evident as Maruti Suzuki have 4 of the top 5 best selling hatchbacks and 6 out of the top 10
The WagonR maintains its top spot with very little marketing expenditure
After the recent update, the Baleno has slowed down its growth from 191% in May 2022 YoY to just 9.5% in June 2022
Excluding the low-volume Polo, the Santro with 99% decline is the biggest loser
The S-Presso with 88% decline and Glanza with 56.3% decline are the 2nd and 3rd biggest losers
If the Santro continues to perform poorly in monthly factory dispatches, then this may hint at a potential exit of this model from the Indian car market

Hatchback Segment June 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

Jazz, i20 and Kwid are the 3 top gainers posting an MoM growth of 94%, 77% and 68%, respectively
Among notable top MoM losers are Santro, S-Presso and Glanza with their dispatches declining 99.7%, 85.4% and 62%, respectively

Why TOYOTA Glanza sales drastically reduced in June 2022. Because It was around 2500 to 3000 nos Range From March 2022 to May 2022. Is there any specific reason ?
