In this June 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B1-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B1-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
B1-Segment Hatchback June 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- All B1-segment cars except the Tata Tiago reported a decline in YoY comparison of monthly dispatches for the month of June
- The Tata Tiago was the sole YoY gainer in June 2023, with a growth of 53.20%
- Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was the top loser, with a 29.70% YoY drop in June 2023 compared to June 2022
- It was followed by Maruti Ignis, which reported a YoY decline of 14.58%
- Maruti’s cars were best and least selling cars in the category, with WagonR as the former with nearly 17,500 units and with Ignis as the latter with just over 4,200 units sold in the month of June in 2023

B1-Segment Hatchback June 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The WagonR and Tiago were the two gainers in MoM comparison for the month of June
- WagonR saw a 7.52% MoM growth and Tiago saw 0.02% MoM growth
- Swift was the worst performing car in the segment in MoM comparison, with an 8.02% drop
- Swift was followed by Ignis, with 6.90% MoM drop, and Grand i10 Nios, with a 1% drop, in June MoM comparison
