Kia Carnival MPV Discontinued

Kia India launched the Carnival back in 2020 and it has been serving as a flagship model in Kia’s ICE portfolio. The model is no longer available and its successor, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, is already on sale in multiple global markets. Furthermore, Kia are also working on the facelift for the fourth-gen Carnival, which should be the one hitting our shores next year.

The Carnival offered a 2.2L turbo diesel engine, producing 200PS of power at 3800rpm and 440Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2750rpm. The engine came mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Since this engine only powered the Carnival in the whole Hyundai-Kia India model range, it was sensible of Kia to not update this engine to meet the BS6 phase-2 emission norms.

2024 Kia Carnival KA4 Slated For Launch?

With the Kia Carnival now discontinued, Kia are likely to bring the facelifted fourth-gen Carnival to the market in 2024. The carmaker gave us the first glimpse of the full-size family SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo but was tight lipped about its India launch. The discontinuation of the Carnival creates a large void in the segment and the new model is likely to come with a slightly higher price positioning over the outgoing model.

Kia Seltos Could Be Only New Kia This Year

For this year, Kia India are set to reveal the Seltos facelift on July 4, 2023. A few dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the C-SUV ahead of its launch, which is likely to take place in the first week of August. We do not expect Kia to bring any new products this year since the new Seltos is likely to be their showstopper offeirng for this festive season.
