Kia is planning to launch a limited edition of the Seltos -- 1st Anniversary edition. As the name suggests, the limited-run version will signify Seltos’ first anniversary in the Indian car market. The Seltos was launched in August 2019.
According to various leaks, the Anniversary Edition will be only available on the HTX variant. It will be 60mm longer than the standard version because of redesigned front and rear bumpers. The rear portion of the car will get tangerine dual muffler design. The fog lamp bezel and side skirts will also feature tangerine shade. Other changes on the outside will include 1st Anniversary Edition badging on the tailgate and differently designed 17-inch black alloy wheels with orange centre cap. The Seltos will be available with dual-tone colour options with a backed out roof. The dual-tone colour option is otherwise available on HTX+ and GTX+ variants only. There will be two new colour options: grey with black roof and silver with black roof. Other dual-tone colour options on offer will include black and white with black roof.
On the inside, it will get black leatherette seats with a honeycomb pattern. The standard HTX variant comes with beige seats. The interior environment will be black. There will be the addition of remote engine start feature with manual transmission as well. On the standard HTX variant, remote engine start is limited to CVT variant only.
Under the hood, the limited edition Seltos will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets a set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine makes 115PS of maximum power and 144Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The diesel engine, on the other hand, makes 114PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Kia also offers the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission with the diesel engine, but it is limited to the HTK+, HTX+ and GTX+ variants only.
Although Kia has not officially said anything about the Seltos 1st Anniversary Edition, the limited-edition SUV has already been spotted at a dealership stockyard. It is expected to go on sale in the coming weeks. Expect it to be priced at a slight premium over the HTX variant which is priced from Rs 13.34 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh. The prices of the Kia Seltos range from Rs 9.89 lakh to Rs 17.34 lakh (ex-showroom India).
