Kia Seltos Price Estimation — V3 VFM Algo

Since Kia have already revealed the variant-powertrain combination & variant-wise features, it becomes fairly easy to estimate variant-wise prices. This is where we put our value-for-money algorithm to good use by reverse engineering it to estimate the prices of each variant based on the increment perceived value of features.

2026 Seltos Base Model Expected Price — Setting A Baseline

The current Seltos base model costs Rs. 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the new Seltos base variant to cost Rs. 11.0 lakh, which is a jump of around Rs. 20,000. We don’t expect it to make a significant jump as moving to the next slab of Rs. 11.50 lakh would put it square in the crosshairs of the Sierra. Going head-to-head with the Sierra would not make much sense as Tatas are playing the emotional angle with the design and branding of the car. All of their efforts along these lines seems to be paying off as the Sierra is currently the hottest commodity in the market.

With the baseline established, we calculated variant-wise pricing and arrived at the following variant-wise Seltos pricing estimates:

2026 Kia Seltos Expected Price — The Price Ceiling

On the upper end, given the aggressive starting price of the Mahindra XEV 9S and the top model price of the Sierra (Rs. 21.29 lakh ex-sh), we shouldn’t expect the Sierra to breach these limits. Moreover, the Sierra top variant actually adds some useful features while the Seltos top spec X Line diesel-automatic has mostly cosmetic features. So, the effective top model of the Seltos is HTX A, which we expect to top out at Rs. 20.50 lakh. At this price, the Seltos can remain somewhat safely away from the Sierra top variant on the price scale.

2026 Seltos Facelift — Powertrain Pricing Estimation

• Normal Petrol Manual vs Turbo petrol-ACMT: As far as the price gaps between the powertrain goes, we see that the jump from normal petrol-manual to turbo petrol-auto-clutch is worth about Rs. 1.30 lakh. We expect Kia to price the turbo ACMT at a premium of Rs. 1.40 lakh.
• Turbo Petrol-ACMT vs Turbo Petrol-Auto: Considering that the automatic transmission gets a few extra features such as paddle shifters and such, we expect Kia to price the turbo petrol DCT about Rs. 1.0 lakh higher than the turbo petrol auto-clutch.
• Normal Petrol vs Turbo Diesel: Considering the superior performance, the price premium justified for the diesel engine over the normal petrol is around Rs. 80,000. However, there are some efficiency gains as well there. With the performance advantage, savings from better efficiency and lower fuel costs, a few extra features, and the industry standards, we expect Kia to price the diesel Rs. 1.50 lakh higher than the normal petrol.
