Mahindra recently revealed the prices of their full-size SUV, the 2020 BS6 Alturas G4. The 2-wheel drive Alturas BS6 costs Rs. 28.69 lakh (ex-showroom) while the 4-wheel drive version costs Rs. 31.69 lakh -- Rs. 3.0 lakh more.
The BS6-compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine in the Mahindra Alturas G4 makes 180PS of power at 4000rpm and 420nm of torque between 1600 and 2600rpm. It’s paired to a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 7-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either the rear or all four wheels depending on which drivetrain option you pick.
Apart from the upgraded BS6 compliant engine, the Alturas G4 has received no other changes in terms of features, design and mechanical bits. The Alturas G4 is a 7-seater premium SUV that offers features like HID headlamps, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit and machined alloy wheels among others. Its safety kit includes 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, ESP, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, ISOFIX anchors and active rollover protection.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 competes with other full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu MU-X. The MG Gloster which was revealed at the Auto Expo 2020 will also join the competition soon.
