Mahindra has re-introduced XUV500 automatic in India. The transmission is a 6-speed torque converter and comes paired with the 2.2-litre diesel engine. This engine is otherwise available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The automatic transmission is available in 3 variants -- W7, W9 and W11(O). The ex-showroom, Pune prices of both manual and automatic variants are as follows:
XUV500 DIESEL | PRICES
As can be seen in the table, the XUV500 automatic is Rs 1.21 lakh dearer than its manual counterpart.
The XUV500’s 2.2-litre diesel engine makes a maximum power of 155PS and peak torque of 360Nm -- same with both the transmission options. With the manual transmission, this engine returns a claimed fuel efficiency (mileage) of 15.05 kmpl. The claimed fuel efficiency drops to 13.44 kmpl for the automatic version.
The XUV500 primarily competes against the MG Hector Plus, which is the only other 7-seater D1-segment SUV on offer at the moment. Price-wise, the XUV500 rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Jeep Compass.
