In this March 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. MPV March 2023 Sales Analysis

MPV Segment March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

  • Maruti Eeco emerged as the top gaining car among high-volume cars with a 30% YoY increase in March 2023
  • The Maruti Suzuki Eeco was the top selling car in the category with about 12,000 units sold in March
  • Ertiga from Maruti reported a growth of 15%
  • Kia Carnival was the top loser with over 48% YoY decline in numbers
  • Triber was the second biggest loser in the category with a 28.73% drop in YoY comparison

 MPV Segment March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

  • Among MPVs, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Ertiga were the top 2 sellers in March
  • The Ertiga barely sold 6,500 units in February, but sold over 9,000 units in March, reporting a gain of 39.49%.
  • Innova Crysta and Hycross nearly doubled their sales in March compared to February, which made them the top gaining mass-market car in the category for the March MoM comparison analysis
  • On the other hand, Eeco, which sold 11,352 units in February, sold 11,995 units in March, which is a rise of 5.66%, can be considered to be stable 
  • Renault Triber and Maruti XL6 were the top losers with 17% MoM decline in numbers
  • Amongst the low-volume cars, Toyota Vellfire topped the list with 298% growth in sales in March over February, which was followed by Mahindra Marazzo with 187% growth, whereas Kia Carnival reported a 67% decrease in numbers
