2026 Maruti e Vitara Secures 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating | V3Cars
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has achieved a full 5-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, making it among the safest models from the brand. This makes the e Vitara the 4th Maruti to receive a perfect score in Bharat NCAP tests, joining the ranks of the Dzire, Victoris and Invicto.
Below is a breakdown of how the new e Vitara performed across various test categories
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Adult Occupant Protection
Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test – 15.49 / 16
In the frontal impact conducted at 64kmph, the e Vitara demonstrated impressive structural strength:
- Head & Neck: Good protection for both driver and passenger
- Chest: Adequate for the driver; Good for the passenger
- Thighs & Pelvis: Good protection on all parameters
- Tibias: Adequate for the driver; Good for the passenger
- Feet: Good protection for the driver

Side Impact & Side Pole Tests – 16 / 16
When impacted from the side at 50kmph, and again in the pole test, the electric SUV continued to offer good protection to all critical body regions, including the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis. This places the e Vitara in the top tier for side-impact safety among compact-to-mid-size electric SUVs.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Child Occupant Protection
Dynamic Crash Performance – 24 / 24
Using rearward-facing child seats, the e Vitara safeguarded both the:
- 18-month-old dummy: Full marks
- 3-year-old dummy: Full marks
Both dummies received maximum scores in frontal and side-impact tests.

CRS Installation – 12 / 12
All recommended child seats could be installed without any issues, giving the SUV a perfect installation score.
Vehicle Assessment – 7 / 13
While the overall result remained strong, the e Vitara missed some points in the vehicle assessment section – consistent with most models tested in this segment.
Variant Tested & Applicability
Bharat NCAP evaluated the Alpha variant equipped with the 61kWh battery pack. However, the organisation has confirmed that the rating also applies to the Delta and Zeta variants, regardless of whether they use the 49kWh or 61kWh battery.
