Maruti Remove Mild Hybrid Tech From Brezza Petrol MT — Fuel Efficiency Drops | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki have silently removed the mild hybrid system from the petrol manual variants of the Brezza. The carmaker has also removed a couple of safety features from a few variants of the B2-segment SUV. Read on to know more about the changes in the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Petrol Manual Loses Smart Hybrid

The petrol manual variants of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza no longer offer the mild hybrid system. As a result, the fuel efficiency of the Brezza petrol automatic is now higher than that of the petrol manual. The fuel efficiency of the Brezza petrol manual is now 17.38kmpl, which is 2.77kmpl less than the earlier 20.15kmpl claimed efficiency.

As you can see from the table above, since the petrol automatic variants of the Brezza continue to come with the mild hybrid setup, its fuel efficiency remains the same as before. As for the CNG variants, Maruti never offered the mild hybrid system anyway.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG Drops Essential Safety Features

Along with the removal of the mild hybrid system from the Brezza petrol manual, Maruti Suzuki have also removed a few essential safety features from the Brezza CNG. Earlier, the CNG variants of the Brezza offered safety features like electronic stability control (ESC) and hill start assist (HSA) as standard across all variants. With the update, these features are now exclusive to the petrol manual and automatic powertrain options.

One New Feature Joins The Standard Safety List

While Maruti Suzuki have removed quite a few features from the Brezza, they have added a new feature that is now standard across all variants. Maruti Suzuki have now added seatbelt reminders for all passengers, which was earlier only offered for the front seat passengers. It is worth mentioning that the aforementioned changes have not resulted in any price change for the Brezza.
