Maruti Suzuki has a lot of exciting cars we may not get in India any time soon. The carmaker balanced it on the other end with cars that are either already here or could soon launch.
Maruti Suzuki Cars at Auto Expo 2020
The extravagant side of cars was led by the Futuro-E compact electric SUV concept with a stylish coupe roofline. Then there was the Swift SHVS hybrid AMT, which is capable of delivering a mileage of 32km from one litre of petrol. Then there was the Ciaz S, S-Presso CNG and a few other cars that are already on sale at Maruti Suzuki showrooms.
Considering the ouster of diesel engines in Maruti Suzuki's lineup, the Swift Hybrid could replace the frugal diesel variants as it delivers phenomenal fuel efficiency of 32kmpl. It could come with a price jump of Rs. 1.2 - 1.5 lakh over a comparable non-hybrid model. However, those with high running could get their return on investment with higher mileage. The current BS6 Swift is priced between Rs. 5.19 lakh and Rs. 8.02 lakh.
The Maruti WagonR is present at the Auto Expo 2020. The WagonR is currently priced between Rs. 4.46 lakh and Rs. 5.95 lakh.
The S-Presso CNG signals the arrival of another cost-effective car in Maruti's range. The S-Presso CNG could go on sale in the next 2-3 months with a price jump of about Rs. 70,000 over comparable non-CNG variant. The regular S-Presso range is currently priced between Rs. 3.71 lakh and Rs. 5.0 lakh.
The Ertiga CNG was also present at the Auto Expo 2020. The Ertiga CNG is available for Rs. 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BS6 range of Ertiga is priced between Rs. 7.59 lakh and Rs. 10.13 lakh.
The BS6 Nexa XL6 petrol hybrid is priced between Rs. 9.85 lakh and Rs. 11.51 lakh.
The BS6 Dzire was also present at the Auto Expo 2020. It currently costs Rs. 5.83 lakh to Rs. 8.69 lakh.
The Nexa Baleno hybrid is also showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. The Baleno range costs Rs. 5.64 lakh to Rs. 8.96 lakh. The hybrid variants are about Rs. 90,000 more expensive than their non-hybrid counterparts. For the modest increase in fuel efficiency of the hybrid, it's not worth the investment.
