Maruti Suzuki are expected to launch their new SUV based on the Toyota Innova Hycross this year. The new SUV will be called the Maruti Suzuki Engage and it’s debut is slated for July 2023. Now, leaked images of the Engage SUV’s front grille, headlight and taillight design have emerged online, giving us a hint of what the upcoming Maruti flagship SUV could look like.

The leaked images give us a sneak peek into the design of the front grille, headlights and taillights of the Engage. Starting with the design of the front grille, it gets two chrome bars in the upper half with the Suzuki logo in the middle. The lower part of the grille features chrome studding to lend it a premium appearance.

Speaking of the headlights, while the design of the clusters remain the same as the Innova Hycross, the headlights feature Maruti Nexa’s signature arrow-shaped LED DRL pattern. The same 3 arrow LED DRL design can be seen in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Fronx and Grand Vitara as well. The taillight clusters, too, share their shape with the clusters on the Toyota MPV. However, Maruti have incorporated the 3-part LED pattern here as well. The leaked images also reveal the design of the front bumper, which appears to be flatter than that of the Innova Hycross for a proper SUV-esque stance.
Since the upcoming Engage 3-row SUV from Maruti Suzuki will be sourced from Toyota, it is likely to carry the same engine and transmission options as the Toyota Innova Hycross. Toyota offer the Innova Hycross with a choice of 2 engine options — 2.0L normal petrol and 2.0L strong hybrid petrol.

Maruti Suzuki will reveal their new 3-row model based on the Toyota Innova Hycross in July 2023. It will serve as the flagship model in the brand’s portfolio and sit above the Grand Vitara. The upcoming Engage 3-row SUV will rival other D2-segment SUVs and MPVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Kia Carnival and, of course, the Toyota Innova Hycross.
