Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift India Launch In Mid April | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki are all set to launch the Ertiga facelift in mid-April 2022. The 2022 Ertiga facelift will get a few cosmetic changes as well as a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Maruti Suzuki are likely to commence 2022 Ertiga bookings on the launch day itself.

The 2022 Ertiga facelift could get a new grille with a piano black finish. The rest of the front profile will remain largely unchanged. At the rear, the Ertiga facelift is likely to gain a black boot applique from the XL6. It could also get redesigned alloy wheels, albeit the same size as before.

On the inside, the 2022 Ertiga could get Suzuki’s new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with advanced telematics. The rest of the cabin will remain the same as before, with generous use of faux wooden inserts and beige upholstery. The Ertiga will continue with the standard 7-seat layout whereas the 6-seat layout will remain exclusive to the XL6. It remains to be seen whether the Ertiga will get 6 airbags this time around. The current model comes with 2 front airbags as standard.

The 2022 Ertiga will continue with the 1.5L normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid support. It will produce the same 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque, mated with the same 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed TC automatic. We expect the overall fuel efficiency to go up thanks to the new automatic gearbox that replaces the old 4-speed TC unit.

With the new changes and better transmission, we expect Maruti Suzuki to hike the prices of the new Ertiga by Rs 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh. The Ertiga will take on the likes of the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo. However, both of its rivals boast a diesel engine whereas the Ertiga will continue to be a petrol-only model.
