Maruti Suzuki has launched a new Ertiga variant called the Tour M in the Indian market. The newly launched trim comes with a price tag of Rs 7.99 lakh, ex- showroom. Based on the mid-level VXi trim, and similar to the Dzire Tour S, the new Ertiga Tour M variant will be used mainly in the cab and commercial fleet market. The Ertiga Tour M is available in 3 exterior paint schemes – Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Arctic White, and Metallic Silky Silver.
Under the hood, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Eritga Tour M gets a 1.5- litre, K15B BS4 compliant petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 105 bhp of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 5- speed manual gearbox. However, the manufacturer is also expected to introduce the factory- fitted CNG kit in the Ertiga Tour M on a later stage.
Talking about the features, the new variant comes loaded with features that are available on the VXi trim of the Ertiga MPV. The features include all-4 power windows, central locking, power steering, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs along with advanced safety features such as ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and speed alert system. Additionally, the Tour M gets a chromed grille, projector headlights, body colored wing mirrors with integrated blinkers and door handles, etc that’s not available on the base model of the standard Ertiga.
In terms of interior, the vehicle offers a basic audio system with AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, multi-functional steering wheel, a colored MID, 12V power outlets for front and rear passengers, and headrest for all seats in the Tour M.
The Taxi/Fleet-market has always been on the lookout for vehicles that are not too expensive to purchase, maintain and run. The market is ever expanding and Maruti Suzuki has been one of the few manufacturers that not only has recognized the potential in this market but has also launched special variants just for commercial purposes in the country. Now, with the launch of this new Ertiga Tour M variant, Maruti Suzuki is looking to capitalize on the fleet market's requirements.
The Ertiga MPV by Maruti Suzuki has been loved by the customers since its launch and with the updates and this new variant; the automaker is taking the vehicle goals to the next level. Apart from adding this new variant, Maruti had launched the Ertiga with a 1.5- litre diesel engine last month with 6-speed manual transmission. The new DDIS 225 motor conveys a pinnacle torque of 225 Nm @ 1500-2500 rpm, with a power output of 94 hp @ 4000 rpm and fuel efficiency of 24.20 kmpl. The high effectiveness turbocharger upgrades top torque age from a lower RPM (cycles every moment).
The current-gen Ertiga is available in four variants: L, V, Z and Z+, priced from Rs 7.44 lakh to Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The MPV is the best seller in the segment with a 39 percent share of the overall industry. Launched in November 2018, the second- gen Ertiga continued to be the favorite by selling more than 40,000 units in Nov-April period.
