The India-made Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door has achieved a major global milestone, crossing 1 lakh units in cumulative exports since its debut in 2023. While sales continue to falter in the domestic market, the Jimny 5-door has become the second most exported model from Maruti Suzuki, after the Fronx.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door: A ‘Made in India’ Global Success

The export journey for the Jimny 5-door began shortly after its India launch in 2023, and in less than 2 years, it has reached customers across over 100 countries. The compact off-roader’s combination of rugged capability, compact proportions, and Suzuki’s signature reliability has made it a hit in markets such as Japan, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and Chile – the top 5 destinations for the India-built model.

Its entry into Japan in January 2025, under the name ‘Jimny Nomade’, generated an overwhelming response. Within days of its debut, bookings crossed 50,000 orders, reflecting the model’s strong appeal across global markets.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said:
