Maserati Levante SUV makes its Indian debut

The Indian luxury car market is a highly potential and constantly growing space, where all the luxury car makers are pouring in their fascinating products to entice the Indian elite class. While the German luxury auto giant trio (Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz) is primarily dominating the Indian luxury car market with the current ruler being Mercedes-Benz, other auto behemoths are also not far behind. Making the luxury auto space even hotter, Maserati has introduced its exciting Levante to India.
The highly awaited Maserati Levante is not only a superb luxury vehicle, but also belongs to the sports utility vehicle (SUV) category, making it a deadly combination. The Indian auto market is currently going gaga over the SUVs, while luxury vehicles have been always highly revered status symbols here. Thus, the newly introduced Maserati Levante luxury SUV is a matter of high excitement for the Indian auto enthusiasts with deep pockets.
The much-awaited luxury SUV first had its world premiere early last year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Maserati already has a rich Indian portfolio which comprises of superb sports car models such as the GranTurismo, Quattroporte, GranCabrio and Ghibli. Thus, with the launch of the new Maserati Levante, the Italian luxury auto marque is going to expand its Indian lineup and enhance the brand’s presence in this country.
An authorized Maserati dealership based in Mumbai has posted on social media platform Facebook that the Maserati Levante luxury SUV has already arrived at the showrooms and is now available for preview as well as test drives.
When exterior design language is concerned, the Maserati Levante SUV exudes true Italian styling prowess and equally exudes muscularity from every angle. The SUV’s highly aggressive front fascia boasts of a massive radiator grille with vertical slates and sharp headlight clusters. The Italian sports SUV’s leek and aerodynamic design and its sharply raked rear windscreen offer a highly distinctive visual appeal. The vehicle also flaunts a long nose, raked C-pillar and rides on boldly styled 18 inch alloy wheels.
It goes without saying that the Maserati Levante also boasts of a highly feature-rich and luxurious cabin. The luxury SUV offers spacious and highly comfortable plush interior which is also focused on offering great engaged drive with its driver-centric cockpit design. Its long feature list includes leather draped seats, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, climate control, hill descent control and much more.

The Maserati Levante is powered by a 3.0 litre petrol and diesel engines in the internal markets. However, in India the vehicle is expected to pack in a 3.0 litre V6 Diesel mill that offers 271 bhp of power and enables the SUV to accelerate 0-100kmph in only 6.9 seconds. The Italian SUV offers four driving modes, namely - Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Auto Manual and Auto Off-Road. The 4th mode also increases the ride height of the vehicle.
The Maserati Levante’s pricing for the Indian market is yet unknown and it is expected to be tagged at Rs. 1.5 crore. Post its Indian launch, the SUV will rival the Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne and the likes.
