In this May 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all A-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all A-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
A-Segment Hatchback May 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, all cars reported some decline in YoY comparison analysis
- The Celerio saw the biggest YoY change in May 2023, with a decline of 62% in May 2023 over May 2022, was the top losing car in the segment
- Renault Kwid also saw a 48% decline in dispatch figures over that of May 2022
- Hyundai Santro was discontinued over the past year

A-Segment Hatchback May 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Maruti S-Presso was the only MoM gainer in the A-segment in May 2023, with a growth of about 12% over its April sales figures
- The Celerio was the top loser with over 34% MoM decline in May
- Celerio was followed by Kwid with 26.34% MoM drop and Alto pair with a 19% growth
