In this May 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all MPVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.
MPV Segment May 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Maruti Ertiga and XL6 saw a similar loss in dispatches of around 12-13% drop in May 2023 YoY comparison analysis
- Maruti Suzuki Eeco was the top selling car in the category with about 12,800 units sold in May
- Toyota’s Innova badged MPVs with 184% YoY growth were the top gainers in May YoY comparison analysis
- 33 units of the Marazzo from Mahindra were dispatched in the month of May, which is a decline of over 74% compared to that of May of 2023

MPV Segment May 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Among MPVs, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Ertiga were the top 2 sellers in May, where Eeco reported a growth of 22% and Ertiga saw a rise of over 90% in May MoM comparison analysis
- Ertiga was the top gainer in May MoM comparison analysis
- Toyota’s Innova Crysta and Hycross pair also reported a healthy MoM growth of over 60% in May
- On the other hand, Vellfire from Toyota, which reported a 96%+ decline in MoM comparison was the sole losing car in the month of May
