Mercedes-AMG A45 S Facelift — Exterior Changes

On the outside, the AMG A45 S looks similar to the model it replaces, save for the inclusion of new LED headlights. The updated headlights now look sleeker than before, thanks to the inclusion of a slimmer LED DRL. It continues to come with the AMG Panamericana grille with ‘AMG’ branding. Around the side, it gets AMG-spec alloy wheels whereas the rear gets updated tail lights.

Mercedes-AMG A45 S Facelift — Interior Changes

On the inside, the A45 S now offers a new design trim finished in aluminum with black/silver elements. Furthermore, it also gets an updated AMG steering wheel with capacitive controls. The updated screens now come with the enhanced graphics and customisation, offering a sportier-looking interface. Additionally, the infotainment system now also supports wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Along with the updated screens, the new A45 S facelift also offers other functional enhancements. To start with, the USB charging capacity has now been increased by 20%, which should result in faster charging. It now offers an additional knee airbag, taking the total count to 7 airbags. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz have also added 2 new convenience features — passive keyless entry and hands-free tailgate. Both features use sensors to detect your presence and unlock the doors and open the tailgate, respectively. Lastly, users now get the option to digitally handover the key of the vehicle to their family members and friends.

Mercedes-AMG A45 S Facelift — Powertrain Details

Powering the A45 S AMG is the same 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine as before. It produces 421PS of power, making it the most-powerful series production hatchback in the world. The engine channels power to all 4 wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Its 4-wheel-drive system offers variable distribution of power between the axles along with a drift mode. The A45 S is also the fastest hatchback in the world, with a 0-100kmph sprint time of 3.9 seconds.
