Mercedes-Benz To Launch EQS 53 AMG On August 24 | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz will launch the EQS 53 AMG 4-Matic on August 24 in India. While the EQS 53 AMG will be brought to our market via the CBU route, the locally-assembled EQS 580 will be launched later in 2022. The EQS 53 AMG 4-Matic is the most-powerful EQ model from Mercedes-EQ.

Mercedes-Benz India will extend their EV portfolio with the launch of the EQS 53 AMG sedan. The German carmaker already offers the EQC electric SUV and has planned future launches for our market as well. The EQS 53 AMG sedan comes with some sporty touches along with a twin electric motor setup.

Powering the EQS 53 AMG is a 107.8kWh battery pack, paired with twin electric motors. In the standard AMG model, it produces a power output of 658PS of power and 950Nm of torque. If you opt for the AMG Dynamic Plus package, the power and torque output bumps up to 761PS of power and 1020Nm of torque. The standard AMG EQS can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 3.8 seconds, if there is at least 80% charge left in the batteries. The AMG Dynamic Plus, on the other hand, does the same in 3.4 seconds, if there is at least 80% charge left in the batteries.

The Mercedes EQS 53 AMG comes with other interesting features like 4-wheel-steering, which virtually decreases its wheelbase while doing tight manoeuvres. On the inside, the EQS 53 AMG comes with a connected 3-screen setup, which Mercedes like to call the ‘Hyperscreen’.

On the design front, the EQS 53 AMG gets a different front splitter, air curtains, side sills, rear apron in gloss black with diffuser, larger rear spoiler and 22-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels. On the inside, it also gets an AMG-spec steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters for energy regeneration levels.
