Mercedes-Benz have confirmed that they will launch the EQS electric sedan in India in 2022. The flagship electric sedan will be locally assembled in India at the carmaker’s Chakan plant. Mercedes-Benz expect to start the local assembly of the EQS in the last quarter of 2022.

EQS is the flagship electric sedan from the German luxury marque. It can also be called the S-Class equivalent in the electric Mercedes-Benz range, but it’s new from the ground up and not derived from the regular S-Class. EQS was unveiled last year and sits on an all-new dedicated EV architecture.

Mercedes-Benz EQS comes in two options with different power outputs - 450+ and 580. Both the versions come with a 107.8kWh battery pack and offer a claimed range of up to 770 km.
