Mercedes-Benz India is again ready to expand its product portfolio and is continuing its aggressive new launch strategy to ensure its leading position in the Indian premium car market. Joining the already large product lineup of Mercedes-Benz India, will be its two new Cabriolet models. The new Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet range in India will include the C300 and S500 Convertibles. Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of its new Cabriolet range in India on 9th November 2016.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 and the S-Class S500 Cabriolet models will thus further enhance the German luxury car giant’s range in this country. It is also good to mention that the C-Class Cabriolet will be the smallest convertible model to come from Mercedes-Benz in India, and post its launch it will be directly fighting with the Audi A3 Cabriolet.

When styling is concerned, both the C-Class and S-Class Cabriolet models follow the design language of their sedan siblings, the giving a miss to the rear doors and thus, bringing about a change in design. Both the models can go topless and thus, also come with subtle design changes to facilitate this function. As these two models A-pillars are reinforced to make up for the roofless design, it has also slightly increased the weight of these cars.

Both the new Mercedes-Benz C300 and S500 Cabriolet come with a sturdy fabric roof, which incorporates a three-layer construction which is also endowed with careful optimized seals. This is to ensure that when the fabric roof is in its place, it can effectively keep the wind and road noises to the minimum and offer comfortably quiet cabin. As per Mercedes, the roof of the S500 Cabriolet can operate very fast and opens up or gets folded down in only 20 seconds that too while operating at a speed level of up to 50 km per hour. On the other hand, the roof on the C300 Cabriolet operates in about 24 seconds at the same speed level.

The Mercedes C-class Cabriolet was recently introduced at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, while the Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet has been already selling in the global car market for some time. Mercedes-Benz already offers the punchy S63 AMG Cabriolet model in the Indian car market, and these two new Cabriolet models will only add to the company’s convertible range.

Under the hood, the compact Mercedes C300 Cabriolet model will be packing in a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor that is good to offer 241 Bhp of power and 370 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a highly refined 9 speed automatic transmission. The car can reach 0-100 Kmph in just 6.7 seconds, and offers a top speed of 250 Kmph.

The Mercedes S500 Cabriolet gets packed with a massive 4.7 liter, V8, bi-turbocharged petrol motor that can pump out 443 Bhp and 700 Nm and is equipped with a 9 speed automatic transmission gearbox. This accomplished convertible can sprint from 0 to 100 Kmph in just 4.6 seconds and comes with a top speed of 250 Kmph.
