When the updates are concerned, the exterior changes in the new updated Mercedes-Benz CLA include a set of updated headlights with full LED units, slightly refreshed patterned daytime running lights which look nicer than the unit as compared against the preceding model. The updated bumper design of the Indian version of the CLA is a bit a different than the bumpers that have made on the global model of the car. The design is essentially similar to that of the outgoing model’s bumper, but comes with a chrome line running across the bumper horizontally which adds to the car’s overall premium look and elegant visual appeal. Another similar chrome strip runs across the width of the rear bumper which joins the two tail pipes which have also received an update. The side profile of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA remains exactly the same as that of the pre-facelift model of the car and retains all the previous features, even the 17 inch alloy wheels don’t come in new design.

On the inside, the new refreshed CLA offers a new larger 8 inch display replaced the outgoing model’s 7 inch screen. This new display unit is also slimmer and more sophisticated looking as compared to the older screen. The new CLA’s infotainment system has also received a few upgrades and it now offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and also comes with a built-in Smartphone integration system along with Bluetooth connectivity. The infotainment system also offers GPS navigation system. Moreover, the car also comes with an updated instrument cluster which now looks more clearly visible and flaunts stylish new red needles.

When it comes to the under the hood bits, the updated new Mercedes-Benz CLA is available in two variants – namely the CLA200 petrol and the CLA200d diesel. The CLA’s petrol version gets powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol mill that is good to pump out a max power of 181 bhp and top torque of 300 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel model packs in a 2.2L 4 pot turbocharged diesel motor which delivers 134 bhp and 300 Nm. Both the motors come paired with a sophisticated seven speed transmission.

Although the global Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift comes with 4Matic models, this driveline is unlikely to be offered in India. The new updated Mercedes-Benz CLA locks its horns with the Audi A3 and will also be pitched against the upcoming luxury models such as the BMW 1 Series Sedan that will hit the Indian car market in 2017. Mercedes-Benz is manufacturing the new updated new CLA only in India outside Europe.
