Mercedes-Benz announced the prices of their flagship G-Class SUV with a diesel powertrain. The G 400d comes with a 2.9L turbo diesel engine with an inline 6-cylinder layout. It’s available in Adventure Edition and AMG Line flavours.
The Adventure Edition is a bit more off-road focused while the AMG Line is a more tarmac-centric version of the SUV while retaining most of the off-road prowess we expect from a G-Class. Both versions of the G-Class 400d cost Rs. 2.55 crore (ex-showroom). Bookings for the latest Mercedes-Benz flagship SUVs is open for a token amount of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 400d Engine Specs
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 400d gets a 2.9L turbo diesel engine with 6 cylinders and an inline configuration. It delivers 330PS of power at 3600rpm and a torque of 700Nm between 1200 and 3200rpm. The G 400d gets a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission delivering the torque to all 4 wheels.
Despite its boxy proportions and a heavy ladder frame platform, the high torque and power output help the G 400d accelerate from standstill to 100kmph in 6.4 seconds. It can even hit a top speed of 210kmph.
