Upcoming MG Cloud EV Spied – Reveals Cabin With 3 Screens | V3Cars

MG Motor India are currently working on strengthening their presence in the rapidly growing EV segment in India. The carmaker recently joined hands with the JSW Group to focus on EVs and enhancing manufacturing capabilities in India. MG India are reportedly working on 2 new EVs – a B2-SUV and an MPV – for the Indian market. The latter was spied on our roads recently and here’s what they reveal.

MG Cloud EV

MG Cloud EV Spied For The First Time

The MG Cloud EV that was spied recently is based on the same GSEV platform as the Comet EV as well as the Baojun Yep electric SUV that was officially revealed a few months ago. The electric MPV is currently known as the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia and the Baojun Yunduo in China.

The spy shots show a large MPV with a low roofline, giving the Cloud EV a crossover MPV-like design. In Indonesia, the Cloud EV measures 4295 mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height, which makes it smaller than a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga but bigger than the Renault Triber. Unlike the Ertiga and Triber, however, the Cloud EV is likely to offer only 5 seats.

MG Cloud EV Interior Design And Features

Like the Comet EV, the Cloud EV packs a ton of tech features inside its cabin. The spy shots gave us a glimpse of the Cloud EV’s 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a large 15.6-inch screen on the centre of the dashboard for controlling various functions like the AC.

The Cloud EV is also likely to offer features like a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and 6 airbags.

MG Cloud EV Expected Powertrain Specs

The Wuling Cloud EV is offered with 2 battery pack options – 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh – in Indonesia. The smaller battery pack offers a claimed range of 360km while the larger battery offers 460km per charge. Both battery packs are substantially larger than what’s offered in the Comet EV compact city car. We expect the Cloud EV’s powertrain to also find its way to MG’s upcoming B2-segment electric SUV based on the Baojun Yep Plus. Know more about the upcoming electric SUV by clicking the link below:
