In terms of looks, the eZS looks exactly the same as the ZS SUV. Showcasing the profile of more of an urban SUV and less of a typical true-blue SUV, the electric version of the ZS additionally gets a five-spoke alloy, a charging port at the front, eZS badging and an exclusive blue paint option.
In terms of features, the Ezs SUV will come loaded with advanced and premium features such as an advanced touch screen infotainment system and a large panoramic sunroof. The iSmart Next-Gen technology which is basically MG’s connectivity suite has also been confirmed by the automaker. All these features will also be on offer with the upcoming MG Hector.
Though the powertrain option for the eZS SUV has not been confirmed for the Indian market, the Chinese version of the SUV comes powered by a 150 hp electric motor. The engine is capable of doing 0-50 kmph in just 3.1 seconds. The SUV has a total range of 335 km in a single charge as confirmed by the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). We’ll have to wait till MG announces the confirmed engine option for the eZS in India.
Apart from India, MG also has plans to launch the electric ZS SUV in other countries such as Australia, South-east Asia, UK, Germany, etc. According to the reports, the eZS will be produced at the Halol plant of MG in the country and is likely to get a subsidy from the Indian government under the FAME – II scheme. In terms of pricing, the eZS is expected to come priced between Rs 20-25 lakh bracket. When launched, the MG eZS will be the second electric SUV in India, following the launch of Hyundai’s Kona EV that is set for July 2019 launch.
