The special edition Hector is based on the Super variant, and its prices are the same as Hector Super. Apart from the features that the Hector Super gets, the Anniversary Edition gets two add-ons: wireless charger and air purifier. It’s a miss in our books that the anniversary edition model doesn’t get any cosmetic add-ons to distinguish it from the regular model.
Some noteworthy features on offer on the Hector Anniversary Edition include LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, front parking sensors, cruise control, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, traction control and rear parking camera.
The special edition model is not available with the option of an automatic transmission with either of the engines, like the Hector Super. The petrol engine on offer makes 143PS of maximum power while the diesel engine makes 170PS.
In the D1-SUV segment, the Hector directly rivals the Tata Harrier. It also competes against the Mahindra XUV500, which is a 7-seater D1 SUV, on the price chart. Other relatively smaller SUVs with overlapping prices include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Jeep Compass. Before the Hector turned one, MG launched its 6-seat sibling in India -- Hector Plus. It is also priced in the close vicinity of the Hector.
