Upcoming MG Cars In 2024 - Astor Facelift And EVs | V3Cars

Here’s a list of all upcoming MG cars that are set to launch in India in 2024. While MG Motor India are yet to confirm any launches in 2024, we could expect the Astor facelift and MG 4 EV to make it to our shores. Let’s begin the list with cars that are likely to launch in early 2024.

MG Motor Upcoming Cars

1. MG 4 EV

MG 4 EV

In 2023, MG only had the Hector and Hector Plus facelifts and the tiny Comet EV apart from a host of special editions to offer in India. However, the carmaker showcased several of its global products at the 2023 Auto Expo, including the MG 4 EV. The MG 4 EV is similar in size to the ZS EV. Hence, it is unclear how MG could position it if they were to launch the EV in India.

Nonetheless, the MG 4 EV could be a good addition to MG’s Indian portfolio. It not offers sharper styling than the ZS EV but more features as well. In global markets, the MG 4 EV is available with 2 battery pack options – 51kWh and 64kWh - with a rear-wheel-drive configuration. The smaller battery pack offers a WLTP-claimed range of 350km while the larger one offers 452km. It also supports a 150kW DC charger. If launched in India, MG could offer it as their flagship EV with a slightly premium pricing compared to the ZS EV.

2. MG Astor And ZS EV Facelifts

Astor Facelift

The MG Astor was launched in India in 2021 as a rival to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos C-segment SUVs. Now, with the Seltos having received its facelift and the Creta about to get its mid-lifecycle update, the Astor is set to go under the knife soon. A leaked patent image of the Astor facelift gives us a clue of what to expect from the updated SUV. Up front, it could get new headlamps, a larger grille and visually bigger air dams. The side profile of the Astor facelift is likely to remain identical to the current model, save for new alloy wheel designs, while the rear could get a set of updated tail lamps.

The Astor facelift is expected to retain its current set of 1.3-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre normal petrol engine. The ZS EV facelift was launched in 2022, so we do not expect it to get the facelift, in India at least, anytime soon. Hence, MG could launch the ZS EV facelift with the same design as the Astor, albeit it with an EV-specific grille, towards the end of 2024 or early-2025.
