Japanese automaker Toyota has updated the feature list for the Innova Crysta, Innova Crysta Touring Sport and Fortuner. The manufacturer has added some more safety enhancement features for both cars. However, for Innova Crysta Toyota had added more features for the base GX variant.
Commenting on the addition of these new features, N. Raja, deputy managing director, TKM said, "At Toyota, we listen to our customers’ voice and are continuously striving to make ever better cars. This iconic brand has grown to become not just the pride of Toyota but the pride of more than 7.6 lakh owners of Innova in India. With many new features added we are confident that customers will have an enjoyable and safe driving experience at all times. Ever since its launch in India way back in 2005, the Innova has maintained a leadership position and is often referred to as a segment creator being the most preferred MPVs in the country with a current segment share of over 40 per cent." Toyota has registered a strong demand with cumulative sales of over 52,000 units from January to August 2018, with a growth of 13 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
All variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta and Crysta Touring Sport now get Emergency Brake Signal, Rear Fog Lamps, Front LED Fog Lamps, Anti-Theft Alarm with Glass Break and Ultrasonic Sensor, while the Toyota Innova Crysta GX additionally gets Touchscreen infotainment system, Steering-mounted audio controls, Power-folding wing mirrors with puddle lamps nad Speed-and impact-sensitive door lock/ unlock feature. In-line with the evolving preferences of our customers, we are happy to introduce the enhanced version with focus on safety, convenience and security features like passenger side power seat, anti-theft alarm with glass break and an ultrasonic sensor to cater to the current generation of SUV lovers. The Fortuner has been leading the SUV segment in the country, currently with a segment share of over 70 per cent.";
The addition of new features also comes with a high price tag for the vehicles. Thanks to the additional features and the recent IRDA announcement stating that starting September 1, 2018, all new two-wheeler and passenger-vehicle sales will need to have mandatory five-year third-party insurance and a three-year third-party plan. Hence, now the 2018 Toyota Innova Crysta starts at Rs 14.65 lakh instead of Rs 14.35 lakh earlier for the 2.7-litre petrol variant, going upto Rs 22.06 lakh instead of Rs 21.57 lakh earlier for the top-spec 2.8-litre ZX diesel automatic variant, the 2018 Innova Touring sport from Rs 18.59 lakh instead of Rs 18.15 lakh earlier for the 2.7-litre petrol VX variant going all the way up to Rs 23.06 lakh rather than Rs 22.70 lakh earlier for the top spec 2.8-litre ZX automatic variant and the 2018 Toyota Fortuner now comes with a price tag of Rs 27.27 lakh compared to Rs 26.69 lakh earlier for the 2.7-litre petrol variant going up to Rs 32.97lakh instead of Rs 32.48 lakh earlier for the 2.8-litre diesel 4WD automatic variant.
