Japanese auto major Honda is all set to officially launch the new generation Honda Amaze subcompact sedan model in the Indian car market this month. Honda Cars India has already started accepting the pre-launch bookings of the second generation Amaze sedan from 6th of April, while the official Indian market launch is scheduled to take place on 16th of May, 2018.
The senior vice president and director of Sales and Marketing at Honda Cars India, Rajesh Goel revealed to the media that the company will be offering a special introductory price for the customers who will book the first 20,000 units of the new generation Amaze.
Goel said that the all new Honda Amaze has received overwhelming response since it’s unveiling at the 2018 Auto Expo. As a special gesture to the Honda car lovers, the company will be offering a special introductory price for the first 20,000 bookings. As the pre-launch car bookers have taken faith in the brand and booked the car before even knowing the price and other important details, the company has decided to offer this special pricing for them.
The all new Honda Amaze made its world debut at the Indian Auto Expo 2018 in February. The new-gen car model will be initially rolling out from Honda Cars India’s Tapukara production facility in Rajasthan. Depending on the market demand, the volumes of the new-gen sedan will be increased, and it would be manufactured at both the car plants of the company, in Greater Noida and Tapukara. At present, the Tapukara facility is responsible for manufacturing the City, WR-V, Jazz and BR-V models.
Honda Cars India started the phasing out process of the existing Amaze from January 2018. With competition stiffening, the once highly popular Amaze managed to sell only 716 units in March this year, although it is also because the customers know that the all new model is round the corner. The new-gen Amaze is expected to come with a waiting period, as based on expected market demand.
The first generation Honda Amaze was launched back in March 2013 and introduced the acclaimed 1.5 litre Earth Dreams technology diesel engine, which started the era of Honda diesel models in India for the first time.
The Honda Amaze has so far sold 2.57 lakh units in India. The new generation Honda Amaze will significantly boost the car’s sales in the Indian market. The new avatar of the Amaze is based on a new platform and boasts of an all new design language. The new sedan looks and feels more premium with its bolder and more aggressive styling as compared against the outgoing model. It seems to be slightly bigger than that of its predecessor and will be offering improved interior space.
The all new Honda Amaze will also get a fully overhauled interior that is more stylish, comfortable and also more feature rich as compared against the previous-gen model. On the whole, the all new Honda Amaze will offer better value and will put up a great fight with its market rivals in India.
