Honda Cars India is getting braced up to launch the new generation model of the Honda Amaze subcompact sedan. The second generation model of the Honda Amaze made its world premiere in India at the Auto Expo 2018, and will be the first big launch from the house of Honda among the announced three launches planned for the financial year of 2018-19. The all new 2018 Honda Amaze sedan will be officially launching in the car market of India in May, 2018.
The authorized Honda Cars India dealers have also started registering the pre-launch bookings for the new generation Amaze for an advanced token amount of Rs. 21,000. This commencement of the pre-bookings of the all new Amaze has been confirmed by many dealers across India.
The Honda Amaze sub-4 meter compact sedan was first launched back in 2013, and became an instant hit in India and also became a game changer for the Japanese car maker, which was struggling to get sustainable sales in India back then. The primary success factor about the Amaze was that it was the first diesel model to be offered by Honda cars India. Although it was highly popular, it was criticized for its lackluster cabin. The heightened competition in the Indian subcompact sedan segment, made it necessary for the Amaze to get a major overhaul to be able to keep on attracting buyers.
The Honda Amaze’s primary rivals in India include the all-time segment leader Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor and the likes. Honda has already sold more than 2.50 lakh units of the Amaze.
Coming back to the all new second generation Honda Amaze, it boasts of an all-new, more stylish and aggressive design language. It also has nicely designed front and rear facades, as compared against the bland rear design of the first-gen model. The face of the new Amaze flaunts a larger chrome finished grille that is reminiscent of the Honda City’s.
The all new Amaze also has a more premium appeal than its predecessor and also offers a fully overhauled new cabin with premium finishing to fix the issue of the first-gen model’s criticized interiors. The top-end models will be endowed with a large touchscreen infotainment system with Digipad.
The new-gen Honda Amaze is based on a new platform and among the first new-gen models to adopt Honda's new styling language. Like before, the new-gen Amaze will be offered in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol models will get the optional CVT gearbox as well.
The 2018 all new Honda Amaze with its quality jump is expected to come with a slightly increased price range, while remaining competitive. The Amaze petrol range is expected to cost between around Rs. 5.70 and 8.20 lakhs, while the diesel range is expected to cost at around Rs. 6.50 to 8.70 lakhs. The all new Honda Amaze compact sedan is one of the most important launches from Honda Cars India, and is expected to boost the car’s sales significantly.
