The South Korean car major decided to postpone the launch of the Tucson in India due to the huge market response that all new Hyundai Elantra has been receiving which has exceeded the expectations of the car major. While Hyundai Motor India decided to keep the focus on the new Elantra sedan during this year’s festive season by postponing the Tucson’s launch in the domestic car market, those who have been eagerly waiting for its launch need not worry, as it is arriving very soon.

It is known that the new generation Hyundai Tucson premium SUV’s Indian launch was supposed to happen this month during the ongoing festive season. However, the South Korean car major decided to postpone the launch of the Tucson in India due to the huge market response that all new Hyundai Elantra has been receiving which has exceeded the expectations of the car major. While Hyundai Motor India decided to keep the focus on the new Elantra sedan during this year’s festive season by postponing the Tucson’s launch in the domestic car market, those who have been eagerly waiting for its launch need not worry, as it is arriving very soon. The new Hyundai Tucson is now slated to hit the car market of India on 14th of November.

Post its Indian launch, the Tucson will be filling in the gap that exists between the hugely successful Hyundai Creta compact SUV and the flagship model Hyundai Santa Fe in the company’s Indian product range. The launch of the Hyundai Tucson is the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the vast and popular Indian SUV market.

The new Tucson that is soon to launch in India is in its third generation. It was first introduced to the Indian car market earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo, where it generated good response. This will be the Hyundai Tucson’s reintroduction in the India market, as the previous model of the premium SUV was discontinued by the South Korean car giant when it could not generate sustainable sales in the market. However, the company is pretty confident about the new-gen Tucson’s success in India, given the increasing popularity of premium SUVs and the massive popularity of the Creta SUV in India.

The new Hyundai Tucson boasts of being based on the company’s new 2.0 Fluidic styling philosophy. The SUV looks much more stylish and sporty as compared to its predecessor. The SUV’s cabin design is similar to the other new Hyundai models and is as usual stylish and feature-rich, which are the patent features of the Hyundai cars. The Tucson’s interiors get loaded with many premium features such as leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather trim on the instrument panel, advanced infotainment system with touchscreen and 8 speakers, power boot lid and optional panoramic sunroof among many more.

Hyundai Motor India is expected to launch the new Tucson in both petrol and diesel versions. Internationally, the Tucson diesel gets a 2L 4 pot motor generating 136 Bhp of power and 373 Nm of torque. The India-spec Tucson petrol is likely to pack in a 1.4L turbocharged engine with a possible 6 speed automatic transmission.

This time around, the new Hyundai Tucson SUV will also come with high level of localization which will help the car maker to keep its price competitive. The new Tucson premium SUV model is expected to be priced in the range of around Rs. 18 lakhs to Rs. 23 lakhs which will put it in the Indian D-segment.
