Next –Gen Porsche Cayenne Turbo Launched In India at INR 1.92 Crore

Porsche India has launched the next-gen Cayenne Turbo in India priced at Rs 1.92 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The top-range SUV by Porsche can be pre-booked at the price of Rs 5 lakh. Porsche dealers have started accepting bookings and the deliveries are expected to commence from next month. The company has also announced to bring the E-Hybrid version of the car in India later this year.
Commenting on the launch, Pavan Shetty, Director, Porsche India said, "The new Cayenne Turbo represents the start of an exciting introduction phase for us, with the Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid also set to arrive in showrooms later this year. The Cayenne has been one of our most popular models to-date and I am sure that the third generation, which offers greater versatility and more performance than ever before will continue the success story, starting with the Turbo derivative. It is a highly anticipated model and as such we are delighted to offer customers the opportunity to order the latest generation of Porsche’s flagship SUV in India."
Mechanically, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo comes powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 542 BHP and 770 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties in the SUV will be carried out by an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The engine is capable to reach the sprint from 0-100 kmph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 286 kmph. However, to reduce the time more to 3.9 seconds the customers will have an option to opt for the Sports Chrono package for Rs 3 lakh more.
The third generation Cayenne is based on the VW Group's MLB platform and shares it with the Audi Q7, Lamborghini Urus and Volkswagen Touareg. The SUV now weighs 65kg lighter than the predecessor with excessive use of aluminium in the body. The SUV measures 4,926 mm in length, 1,983 mm in width and 1,673 mm in height while the wheelbase is rated at 2,895 mm. In terms of styling and features, the exterior of the newly launched Cayenne Turbo offers a larger front grille with air vents on either side featuring LED DRLs. The new LED headlamps also have 4 LED positioning lights while at the rear, the SUV gets new LED tail lamp clusters which are connected by an LED light bar. The Cayenne Turbo rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and comes with quad-exhaust tips.
;Talking about the interior, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo gets a new touchscreen infotainment system connected to a 710-watt BOSE surround sound experience, a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and capacitive touch for various controls. Other prominent features include rear axle steering, air-suspension, Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Automatic Brake Differential (ABD) and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR).
Taking against the likes of other prominent SUVs from other luxury automakers in the segment such as Land Rover Range Rover, the next-gen Porsche Cayenne Turbo claims to offer a balance between the dynamism of a sports car and the comfort of a touring car, while continuing to showcase outstanding off-road capabilities.
