Skoda plan to offer the next-gen Superb with a myriad of powertrain options for global markets, including diesel, turbo petrol and hybrids. However, the India-spec Superb is likely to continue with the 2.0L turbo petrol engine that also powers the Kodiaq SUV. The 2023 Skoda Kodiaq is already BS6 phase-2 compliant and bookings for the updated SUV are currently open. The Superb, on the other hand, is likely to use a different iteration of the same engine, albeit without 4-wheel-drive.

The current Skoda Superb comes with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. It produces 190PS of power between 4200rpm and 6000rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1450rpm and 4200rpm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
