At Skoda’s recently held annual press conference, the carmaker confirmed the next-generation Superb and Kodiaq would debut later in 2023. Skoda also reiterated its intentions to introduce 3 brand-new electric vehicles (EVs) by 2026. Read on to know more about Skoda’s upcoming D-segment sedan and SUV.

The 2024 Skoda Superb and Kodiaq will continue to feature internal combustion engines. The new Kodiaq, which will be in its second generation, will get a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time. The new 2024 Superb will retain the current model’s plug-in hybrid system that was recently upgraded for 2023.
The current Superb and Kodiaq are available with a variety of powertrain choices in global markets, including 1.5L and 2.0L turbo petrol, and a 2.0L diesel engine. Of these, The current India-spec Kodiaq and Superb only get the 2.0L turbo petrol engine. The Skoda Superb plug-in hybrid variants get a 1.4L turbo petrol engine mated to an electric motor. We expect Skoda to stick with these engine options for the upcoming models. Additionally, the Kodiaq might receive the same 1.4L plug-in hybrid powertrain as the Superb.

The Superb will move into its fourth generation with the upcoming update, while the Kodiaq will move into its second generation. We expect Skoda to give their D-segment sedan and SUV a major design overhaul while retaining distinguishing Skoda styling elements,such as the butterfly grille.
The all-electric Enyaq will serve as an interior design influence for the next-generation Superb and Kodiaq. As a result, the saloon and SUV could receive the Enyaq's sleek interior and 13-inch free-standing touchscreen navigation system. Skoda could also offer both cars with a head-up display with augmented reality.

With Skoda set to debut the brand-new Superb and Kodiaq later this year, we expect both D-segment offerings to arrive in India at the start of 2024. The current Superb is offered in 2 variants – Sportline and L&K – while the Kodiaq is available in Style, Sportline, and L&K variants. Both cars share a 2.0L turbo petrol engine that produces 190PS of power. The Skoda Superb is currently priced between Rs. 34.20 lakh - Rs. 37.30 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Kodiaq is priced between Rs. 37.50 lakh - Rs. 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
