Japanese automaker Nissan has launched a special edition model of its Terrano SUV in the Indian car market. Named as the Nissan Terrano Sport, the special edition model of the SUV has been tagged at Rs. 12.22 lakhs (ex-showroom across India). Being a special edition model, the Terrano Sport comes with a number of sporty cosmetic additions as its name suggests, while there are updates and new feature addition on the inside as well.
When the exterior styling updates are concerned, the newly launched Nissan Terrano Sport special edition flaunts dual body coloure scheme with a white body and contrasting black pillars and roof. The special edition SUV comes with sporty body decals in the form of red racing stripes that are seen on the hood, fenders, rear bumper and on rear door sill. The SUV also receives new cladding on its wheel arches. All these exterior changes although mild, make the Terrano look more premium and sporty.
On the inside the special touches that the new Nissan Terrano Sport edition offers include the same red theme highlight that comes in the form of new crimson stitched seat upholstery and floor mats with crimson accents. Moreover, the new special edition model comes has been endowed with Nissan Connect that is an integrated information and communication platform with the ability connect to the owner's smartphone. This system packs in over 50 features like geo-fencing, locate my car, share my car location, speed alert, nearby pit stops and many more. Nissan India is also offering 3 years of free NissanConnect services to all those customers who choose to buy the new Terrano Sport edition.
Apart from the above, the Nissan Terrano Sport also offers features like a 7 inch touchscreen navigation system, steering mounted controls for audio and phone, touch lane change indicator; LED DRLs, ABS with EBD, brake assist, dual-airbags and much more.
Being a special edition model, the new Nissan Terrano Sport does not get any under the hood changes or updates. However, the Terrano Sport is offered for sale only in the diesel version. It is powered by the same 1.5 litre diesel motor as that of the standard Terrano SUV that has the ability to churn out a max power output of 83.8 bhp. The Nissan Terrano Sport is also a limited edition which means it will be available in only a limited number, so all the interested buyers should grab it soon.
At Rs. 12.22 lakhs, the Nissan Terrano Sport special edition model has been tagged same as that of the XL (O) trim and the XV D trim models. The Terrano Sport edition is Rs. 2.23 lakhs dearer than the base diesel trim of the SUV owing to all the added features.
In the Indian car market, the Nissan Terrano SUV rivals the likes of the Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta. The Terrano’s sales have been plummeting for quite some time. The launch of the Terrano Sport special edition should lure in quite some buyers for this Japanese compact SUV.
