Nissan has launched the Magnite at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is a sub-4m SUV that rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Honda WR-V, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and the Tata Nexon. Nissan Magnite is available in four variants: XE, XL, XV and XV Premium. It is priced from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.35 lakh. It is to be noted that these prices are introductory and are applicable till 31 December 2020 only.

The Magnite is offered with two engines two choose from. The first one is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that it borrows from the Renault Triber. It makes 72PS and 96Nm mated to a 5-speed MT. The second engine on offer is a turbocharged version of the 1.0-litre engine. It makes 100PS and 160Nm mated to either a 5-speed MT or a CVT. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is not only more powerful but is more frugal as well.
