Nissan have officially revealed the name of their upcoming C-SUV, which will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others. The upcoming Nissan C-SUV will be called the Tekton, which they say means “craftsman” or “architect” in Greek. Take a look at the exterior and interior details of the upcoming Nissan Tekton SUV.

Nissan say the Tekton’s design is inspired by the iconic Patrol SUV, albeit in a more compact and contemporary form. The front end of the Nissan Tekton features a sculpted bonnet, LED headlamps flanked by C-shaped LED DRLs with a connecting element. A large faux skid plate on the lower bumper gives the upcoming Nissan SUV a rugged appearance. Tekton lettering on the bonnet adds a premium touch.

Around the side, the Tekton features bulbous wheel arches, black cladding on the lower half. We expect the top variants of the 2026 Tekton to offer 18-inch alloy wheels while the mid and lower variants could come equipped with 17-inch alloy and steel wheels, respectively.
At the rear, the Tekton features an upright tailgate with a roof-mounted spoiler. The C-shaped LED taillamps are connected by lighting elements on the tailgate, while the bumper features a black and silver finish.
The overall stance is upright and rugged, yet premium enough to stand out in the growing C-SUV segment.

While Nissan haven’t revealed the full interior yet, teasers hint at a premium, multi-tone dashboard layout with soft-touch materials and a large infotainment display. Expect the Tekton to offer the following features:
The Nissan Tekton is built on the CMF-B platform, shared with the upcoming Renault Duster. This modular architecture supports multiple engine options, including turbo petrol and strong hybrid powertrains. While initial versions are likely to be petrol-only, hybrid variants and possibly AWD (All-Wheel Drive) could be introduced later.
The SUV is expected to feature manual and CVT automatic transmissions, ensuring a balance between performance and efficiency for both city and highway use.
The Nissan Tekton is expected to make its world premiere in 2026, with sales in India expected to begin soon after. It will take on established rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq in the competitive C-SUV space. The new SUV will be produced at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai.
Earlier this year, Nissan confirmed they will launch a 3-row version of the upcoming C-SUV too, possibly around Q1 of 2027. Check out Nissan’s future plans in more detail here.
