Creta, Alcazar Rivalling Nissan SUVs Launch Timeline (2-row, 3-row SUV) | V3Cars
Nissan have recently confirmed the launch timeline of their upcoming SUVs. One of them will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Vitara and the likes. The other is a 3-row SUV, which will compete against cars like the Hyundai Alcazar, Citroen Aircross as well as MPVs like the Kia Carens.
According to Nissan India MD, Saurabh Vatsa, the development of these SUVs is progressing in tandem with their alliance partners, Renault. The Renault version of the car is most likely to bring back the Duster name plate. While addressing the media representatives, Mr. Vatsa confirmed that despite a parallel R&D process, just like the Kiger and Magnite, the cars from each brand will carry a unique interior/exterior design, feature distribution and personality.
About the progress of the cars, he said that the development of their 2-row and 3-row SUVs for the Indian market is in full swing and on schedule. Speaking of schedule, Nissan intend to bring their Creta-size 2-row SUV on sale around mid of 2026. Its 3-row version, which will go up against the Alcazar, is on track for launch in Q1 2027 calendar year.
Besides these two SUVs, Nissan are also working on Triber-based 4m MPV. Unlike the SUVs, the small MPV is likely to borrow heavily from the Renault Triber in terms of design, powertrain options and features. This is the next Nissan car in the pipeline for the Indian market. You can read more about this car in the following article: Nissan To Launch Small Sub-4m MPV In Q1 2026
We are expecting to see the 1.0L turbo petrol engine as the base and most popular powertrain option in the Renault Duster and its Nissan sibling SUV, when they go on sale in India in 2026.
