Nissan to Start Brand Awareness for Tekton SUV (Creta Rival) in Feb 2026 | V3Cars
Nissan are preparing to kick off brand awareness activities for its upcoming C-segment SUV, the Tekton, starting February 2026. The Japanese carmaker confirmed the SUV’s name and released its first teaser images in October this year, giving an early glimpse of what will be its next major product for the Indian market.
The Tekton will be Nissan’s second launch in 2026 under the Renault–Nissan alliance, following the Nissan Gravite, which is scheduled to debut in January. Together, these launches signal Nissan’s renewed focus on expanding its presence in India’s volume-driven SUV and MPV segments.
According to Nissan’s latest press release, the Tekton’s design draws inspiration from the globally sold Nissan Patrol. The teaser images reveal a bold front end featuring a prominent grille and connected LED headlamps. At the rear, C-shaped connected tail-lamps add to the SUV’s muscular and upright stance. Underpinning the Tekton is the CMF-B platform, the same architecture that is used for the next-generation Renault Duster.
Production of the Nissan Tekton will take place at the Renault–Nissan manufacturing facility in Chennai, alongside the upcoming Renault Duster and the Gravite MPV. While Nissan has not yet disclosed the engine specifications, the Tekton is expected to share its powertrain options with the new Duster. This could include a 1.2L turbo-petrol engine, with both front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrain options likely to be on offer.
Once launched, the Tekton will be positioned above the Magnite in the Nissan’s line-up. In the competitive C-SUV segment, it is expected to take on established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, further strengthening Nissan’s portfolio in one of the country’s most crowded and important segments.
