Nissan To Launch Small Sub-4m MPV In Q1 2026 | V3Cars
While appraising the media on the launch of Magnite CNG, MD Nissan India, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, confirmed that their 3-row MPV in the entry level MPV segment will go on sale sometime in the first quarter (Jan - Mar) of calendar year 2026.

According to the teaser images, the sub-4m MPV will borrow heavily from the Renault Triber. This is unlike the products we have seen from the two alliance brands in recent years. The Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite share the platform and powertrain option but have a vastly different design, feature distribution and variant lineup. So much so, that despite sharing the soul, you can’t call them the same cars with different badges.
With the B2-segment 3-row MPV, the product planning may be somewhat like the Maruti-Toyota badge engineering. The Baleno-Glanza and Fronx-Taisor have exactly the same variant-wise feature distribution and only get negligible design changes on the front, rear and inside. Even the Vitara-Hyryder twins are largely similar with only a few feature differences and some design distinction.
Given the short development timeline for the Triber-based MPV, we expect it to be exactly that – Triber-based MPV. The teaser images confirm that even the headlamp cluster is exactly the same as that of the Triber.
Nissan MPV Engine Options
As for the engine options, don’t expect any deviation from the norm — that is Triber. Since the Triber has had to make room for 7 occupants (5 adults + 2 children), the packaging makes it barely possible to accommodate the engine. So, although a car like Triber, which has to haul 7 occupants, could use a torquey engine like the 1.0L turbo, we shouldn’t expect the Nissan’s MPV to have a turbocharger and an intercooler in the cramped engine bay. That also keeps the smoother CVT automatic off the table.
