In this November 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
B2-Segment Hatchback November 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The Maruti Baleno was the only B2-segment hatchback with 5-figure sales numbers in November YoY comparison
- The Maruti Baleno hatchback saw a YoY gain of 111% and was the second highest gainer in the B2-segment hatchback category
- Baleno’s twin from Toyota, the Glanza, was the top-gainer in the category with 131% YoY growth in November 2022
- The B2-segment hatchback category saw YoY growth across the board
- The only exception was Honda Jazz, sales of which dropped by 90% in November 2022 compared to the same month last year. The Honda Jazz has continued to show a downward trend in sales. Its October 2022 sales figures were 74% lower than October last year, and was the biggest YoY loser in October YoY comparison as well
- The Hyundai i20 was the YoY top gainer in October, with a 77% gain in October YoY comparison. It claimed the fourth spot in November YoY comparison with a 65% growth in sales

B2-Segment Hatchback November 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- In terms of MoM sales figures, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the top gainer, with a 22.14% gain in sales figures
- The Glanza was the other too gainer in the segment, with 16.62% gains in November MoM comparison analysis
- The Honda Jazz was the top loser with a 90% decline in dispatches, followed by the Hyundai i20 with 7.40% decline and Altroz with 8.74% decline
- Tata’s premium hatchback, the Altroz, upturned its 8.74% downfall in October over September to a growth of 6.6% in November over October.
